Grammy-winning worship leader and vocalist Chandler Moore is making headlines in early 2026 with significant career developments that mark a new chapter in his musical journey.

Departure from Maverick City Music

In a major announcement that has captured the attention of the gospel music community, Chandler Moore and fellow Maverick City Music member Naomi Raine have officially departed the Maverick City collective. Both artists shared statements on social media confirming their decisions to step away from the Grammy-winning group, a move that comes alongside reports of a legal dispute involving the collective.

The departure marks the end of a remarkable era for Moore with Maverick City, during which he contributed to numerous chart-topping hits and received multiple Grammy Awards for his work with the group.

Joining Sons of Sunday

Shortly after announcing his departure, Moore revealed his involvement in an exciting new project. He has joined the newly formed worship collective “Sons of Sunday,” alongside prominent artists including Steven Furtick (founder of Elevation Church), Brandon Lake (Grammy and Dove Award-winning artist), Chris Brown, Leeland Mooring, and Pat Barrett.

The new collective debuted its first songs early in 2026, including “GOD DID!” and “Runnin with Angels,” signaling a fresh direction for contemporary worship music. Sons of Sunday represents a powerhouse gathering of some of the most influential voices in modern Christian music.

Live in Los Angeles Album

Moore continues to promote his newly released solo project “Live in Los Angeles,” a live-recorded worship album captured over two nights in May 2024. The album showcases Moore’s dynamic vocal range and passionate worship leadership, featuring the lead single “Lead Me On.”

“The concept for the live album was simple—to perform in a room with people who love to worship like I do,” Moore explained. “It’s all about sharing inspiring, uplifting songs, capturing those special once-in-a-lifetime moments that happen. Just as the stories in the Bible take us on an amazing journey, I wanted to take those in the audience, and now listeners everywhere, on a unique adventure.”

Black History Month Concert

Moore is also scheduled to headline the Black History Month Gospel Concert at the Paramount Theater on February 13, 2026, alongside an opening performance by singer-songwriter Madison Ryann Ward. A pre-show from VCU’s Black Awakening Choir will begin at 6:00pm, making for a full evening of powerful gospel music celebration.
